On Friday, I took part in a book launch event celebrating the release of BANNED, an anthology from Black Hare Press which features my story, “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”
This particular release happened in two parts. The first was a collection of drabbles (100-word stories) that served as prequels for each main story. The drabble collection is already out, and the short story collection will be released on Monday, November 30th.
For the launch party, Banned author Tim Mendees invited me, David Green, Chris Bannor, and Trisha McKee to talk about our stories, writing, and music in general. If you love indie horror, music, or both, this is a collection you’ll want to check out.
For me, writing this story was some of the most fun I’ve had as a writer. As I mention during the launch event, I’ve included references to songs, lyrics, bands, and band members throughout my story. I’ve worked in 28 references, not counting the story's title.
Can you find them all? Let me know how you did on Twitter or Facebook!
In the meantime, if you want to check out the launch event, Tim Mendees was kind enough to put it up on YouTube here:
